We are going to start our WDW vacation at MK. We’re staying at a nearby, off-site hotel the night before. I believe we will have early entry b/c it is our check-in day at Port Orleans. I have never driven and parked at Disney before. What time should we aim to arrive at the TTC to take advantage of early entry?
We always try and get to the gate an hour before early entry - that is driving up about an hour before. However the TTC is sometimes more tricky and 90 min might give you some cushion. There are times that more than an hour before you may get turned away but typically not at TTC.
PARKING: I’m considering driving down instead of flying. Tell me all about parking. Now I’m concidering it as plan A…maybe? Staying on property, French Quarter. Which parks are best to park vs Disney transportation? Which parks should I use preferred parking? What are the overall pros & cons of parking vs Disney transportation? Will I gain any time (either at parks or sleeping in) by driving or is it about the same?
I always have a rental car and prefer to drive to all the parks, except I take the bus to Magic Kingdom because parking is at the Transportation and Ticket Center and requires either ferry or monorail to get to the gate (vs the on property bus drops you right by the gates).
I prefer taking a car because I like being on my own schedule. I don’t mind driving and waiting for a bus drives me crazy. Or even worse, walking up right as one as leaving.
I personally would never pay for preferred parking because I don’t find the value. But I also don’t generally mind walking over 10 miles per day because I’m a runner!
