What are your favorite "hidden gems" at Walt Disney World?

Painting class or sangria tasting at Coronado Springs Bonus is that you get the amazing views from the top of Gran Destino when you do the painting class

Maybe I was just lucky but I basically had the whole bar to myself when I was at Les Vins de France. And maybe if it were a long line as you described they wouldn’t have poured right to the brim. It was just after noon, so perhaps that’s the trick. (don’t judge)

Not quite a sunset view, but the night time view from the top of the Swiss Family Treehouse at Magic Kingdom is phenomenal! You can see the castle, Tron, and Tomorrowland all glowing!

Maybe a bit odd to be considered a “hidden gem” but finding the best places to refill your water bottle can be a bit of an art. With some places just tasting yucky (I’m looking at you water fountain in Cosmic Rays) and difficulty finding a true water bottle fill vs a drinking fountain (that often has warm water, yuck!), I think knowing the best places to rehydrate for free is priceless! Yes, quick service will give you free water but it usually is just a small cup and who wants to wait in a giant line to get a cup of water!
I’ve found a few quick service places that have self-serve fountain drinks, and I think these are the BEST spots because you can fill a giant water bottle quickly with both water and ice! My favorites are Connections at EPCOT and Backlot Express at Hollywood Studios. Does anyone know of any other quick service with self-serve fountain drinks?

Also, a tip! If you click on the search magnifying glass in the My Disney Experience app and type in “water” it will show all the water bottle refill stations on the map!

Maybe I’m the only one who gets this excited about free water though….

Speaking of timing rides, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad during fireworks is amazing! The ride is long enough and mostly outdoors, and the Magic Kingdom fireworks are long enough, it makes it such a unique experience.

I do love that place! I wrote my tip and only later saw yours, bad timing on my part.

Not sure if this counts, but Minnie Van transport to/from hotel if you’re a deluxe hotel guest (or club level at Coronado). $249 each way, though (but includes $20 tip to driver).

One of our favorite things to do is to play mini golf at one of the two mini golf courses on-site at WDW. I’m always surprised how many people don’t know they exist, so I thought it might count as a hidden gem. We’re going to play the snow course at WinterSummerland in a few weeks and are really excited for that! One tip is to call ahead and make reservations!

Thank you for posting this! I am totally about the free water and have heard so much about bad water vs good water. Last time I went I thought you could walk up to any place that serves food and found out kiosks don’t have water to give. So thanks for the tips on where to go.

I have heard only one is open at a time…is that true? How do you know which one is open? Do you have to make reservations? My thoughts were to wonder over to the Swan & Dolphin if we wanted to during our HS day that is the Fantasia one…where is the snow one?

From what I’ve seen, the mini golf places are generally open at the same time (but I think they’ve been undergoing refurbs lately, so some courses have been closed). The mini golf by the Swan has Fantasia Gardens and “the fairways” to choose from (we always go with the gardens). WinterSummerland is by Blizzard Beach and you can choose between “snow” and “sand” (and they merge at the end). Reservations are not required but one time when we were there the wait was over an hour for people without reservations.

I just went early (Friday) and it wasn’t that busy then either. Timing probably plays a big part.

We are going in early June with family friends and we thought about getting Geo82 for our husbands for the bourbon flight. This would be great for us moms as a treat!! Thank you for sharing this! :clinking_glasses:
