Disney World with a group of 10

Heigh-ho!
Ten of us are visiting Disney World this March, with 4 grandsons between the ages of 3 1/2 and 10 1/2. Any suggestions you might have on acquiring Lightning Lanes or anything else pertaining to effectively managing such a large and diverse group, during spring break, would be very much appreciated. Thank You!

I would suggest splitting into 3 groups where each group has a maximum of 4 people. Each group’s lightning lanes should be managed by a different person on a different account. You can still aim to do the same things at the same times but you’ll get better lightning lanes when you are booking for 4 or less at once. This also gives you the flexibility to split up when one group wants to do one thing and another group wants to do something else.

Also keep in mind that you can use a lightning lane up to 1 hour and 59 minutes after it has “expired”. So even if things don’t line up exactly between different groups, it’s unlikely you’ll be in a situation where you can’t all scan it at the same time.

Thank you much for your input! Just based on the thrill tollerance within our group of 10, we will have 2 groups of riders, basically the two 3 1/2 yr olds and me in one group and the other 7 in the thrill ride group. (We actually may end up with 3 being in a third group because they have said they don’t want to rope drop or wake up early.) All the videos I’ve watched on booking Lightning Lanes demonstrate a booking on just one person. Do you have a way to describe what my view will look like, with the numerous rides and riders I will book? Will my view be of all the rides, for 10 of us, listed in order of time, even for the rides I am not riding? Will it list names of who has each LL pass? My plan is to book Lightning Lanes for each day, for the most popular rides, and then modify each ride for some in the family to move to their more desirable ride.

My other question is if, prior to my 7 day in advance Lightning Lane selections, I set up on my app, under the Disney Genie Service, as discussed in tonight’s live podcast recording session on Biggest Lightning Lane Mistakes, my top few preferred rides for each park, on the day I make my Lightning Lane selections will just those few rides show up OR will every LL ride in the park show up, just as if I had not made those prior preferences? Again, Thank You! I really appreciate your help!

Ear Scounts did a video on booking for large groups, it was on the older Genie Plus system where you could only book 1 ride at a time rather than the 3 you can do now. However the process of booking the rides is pretty much the same.

Thank You for the suggestion! After watching this large group video again, I could not tell, with 10 in my party, will my view on the app be of all the rides for 10 of us, listed in order of time, even for the rides I am not riding? Will I need to click on each LL block to see the detail of who has each LL pass?

My plan is to book Lightning Lanes for each day, for the most popular rides first, for all 10 of us, and then immediately modify the rides which some in the family prefer to not ride. Do you think that will be the most effective approach?

Again, Thank You! I really appreciate your help!

Yes, I think this will keep things simple, so that it’s not too confusing. If you don’t see times you want, you could try reducing the group number to see if that brings up better times. I haven’t seen much about the pre-booking phase for a large group, so please report back on how it goes!

With regards to the view, yes it will show them all.

Thank You! I would be happy to keep a list of my learnings and was wondering if someone might find it helpfuli? I already have learnings from acquring our 3 dining reservations for 10. What would you suggest I do with the list once I recover from the trip? Thanks Again!
